Yamato

For Kaori and her older brother Yamato, born into the household of a crime syndicate boss, inheriting leadership of "Seventh Moon" after their father's death was a foregone conclusion. For years they led the organization as equals, bringing it profit and success, and in time they began to set their sights on expanding into America. The plan they had envisioned was simple: Yamato would go to America to build up Kaori's international presence, while Kaori remained in Japan to keep control of their domestic operations. Unfortunately for the siblings, some of their subordinates were not pleased with the idea of Kaori taking command in Japan. The rebellion, when it came, was swift and violent. Yamato lost his life protecting Kaori, and thanks in part to his sacrifice, she and a handful of loyal followers managed to escape Japan and flee to America. Upon their arrival, Kaori and her people were met by the man who had originally been scheduled to meet Yamato. Unfamiliar with Japanese names, he couldn't tell them apart by gender and addressed Kaori as "Yamato." She considered correcting his mistake, but in the end she let it stand. She decided that taking his name and carrying on his dream would be the best way to keep her brother's memory alive.
